Our I-Zine
Reviews Page

Many e-zines include a page or more of reviews of such things as movies, books, television shows, CDs, and so on. Here's a format I might use for my reviews.

I recommend The Click Five. I saw them in concert when they opened up for the Backstreet Boys last year, and they are one of the first bands that I liked almost as much as the main band. I'm picky when it comes to new music, but soon into their set, I found myself dancing around in my seat to their catchy pop tunes, and making eye contact with the hottie bass-guitarist, Ethan. ;)

You can learn more about them here:

I also recommend Carrie Underwood. I didn't think I'd like her music, but I have to admit, she has some great songs.

Rashleigh~ I recommend Olive Garden, TGIF and Denny's for the best food.

I recently tried out the Texas Roadside Grill. They have barrels of peanuts everywhere, and you can take them whenever you want. They have a little bucket on your table full of peanuts as well, and an empty one for the shells. I eat the shells, but, for those of you who are normal and don't, you’ll enjoy the empty buckets. The steaks are fantastic, and the mashed potatoes are to die for. Trust me though. You don't want to go there for your birthday if you easily get embarrassed. They put you on a horse saddle that is on a stool, and they yell out that it is your birthday, followed by a loud "yee-haw!" They do it to adults too-they did it to an adult when I was there.

Like Rashleigh, I love the Olive Garden as well, and TGI Fridays has this new green bean dish. They also have fried macaroni-yum!

Rashleigh~ I'm into alot of the CW shows like Super Natural, Ghost Whisperer, Gilmore Girls, and Runaway. I also like all 3 CSI's, Law and Order, and SVU.

I recommend House of Carters. It is hilarious to see Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys try to fix his broken family. Watch as his family fights and gets drunk and into fights. It is definitely good for a laugh.

I also recommend The Biggest Loser, Deal or No Deal, 7th Heaven, Medium, Days of Our Lives, and especially My Name Is Earl. That is the funniest show you'll ever come across. Also, tonight, look out for One Against A Million. It's from the creators of Deal or No Deal, and is hosted by Bob Saget of Full House. Remember him?

Thicker Than Water

by Maggie Shayne

Uptight Julie Jones, has a deadly secret.

Sixteen years earlier, known as Jewel, Julie ran away from home to what she thought was a safe haven for runaways, but soon found out that it was a very dangerous cult.

When the evil compound of the crazed cult leader/drug dealer, Mordecai Young burned down in a raid, Jewel escaped with his stashed away money and her dying best friend's newborn child, whom was fathered by Moredecai himself.

Aside from two other of the "Reverend’s" (as Moredcai had called himself) favorites, everyone else perished in the raid/fire. Or so Julie always thought.

When a blackmailer who threatens to expose Julie is murdered, and the two surviving "favorite" girls turn up dead too, it looks like to Julie that the murderer is now after the daughter that Julie has raised as her own. Her only help is cocky, fellow radio reporter, Sean MacKenzie Julie's rival.

Together they must work at finding this madman before it's too late, and Julie loses her daughter forever to a man whom they once thought was dead Moredcai Young.

I really enjoyed the book. It had a surprise ending, and you never knew what was going to happen at certain points. It has two sequels that I have yet to read called, Darker Than Midnight, and Colder Than Ice.

Sara Morgan falls in love with her college professor, Liam O'Connor. Their relationship quickly heats up, and they get married almost right away. To Sara, it is the perfect relationship that is until she realizes just how superstitious Liam is. At first, it's just tossing spilt salt over his shoulder, and not wanting to be near black cats or go under ladders, but soon it goes beyond not picking up pennies that are on tails, to something much more deadly.

I loved this book! I wish that R.L. Stine wrote a lot more adult novels.

I am a huge fan of R.L. Stine. I love his Fear Street series. I also love Patricia Cornwell. I love her Dr. KayScarpetta books.

Snakes on a Plane was a really good movie. I usually don't like action movies, but I found that movie to be great. It stars Samuel L. Jackson, Nathan Phillips, Rachel Blanchard, Julianna Margulies, and Fletch Alexander,     and is about snakes that get loose on a plane due to two murderers trying to stop the police and the witness that is going to testify against him, who are both onboard.

Also out are The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Grudge Two, which I have yet to see, but are sure to be good. On Halloween, look for Saw III, sure to be a hit.
